CULTURAL FUN FOR TEENS THIS EASTER VACATION
The Festival of Kites Cultural Camp is a partnership between DianJen and the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and the Arts. This year, the core focus is on imparting the traditions of kite-making and Cocoa cultivation and processing. The programme will culminate with a field trip to the San Antonio Cocoa Co-operative in Gran Couva, as well as the Cocoa Panyol Museum in Flanagin Town to see first-hand the processes and traditions involved. Additionally, there will be a mini Kite Festival to close the programme, where participants will showcase the kites they produced during the camp at a community recreation ground.
Camp Outcomes:
The Camp will:
- Expose of our youth to the techniques associated with traditional cultural expressions.
- Foster an awareness of local artistic traditions among young citizens.
- Engage our youth in productive activities by providing a platform for creative expressions.
The Camp is structured around 3 broad modules:
- Kite Making and Flying
- Cocoa Production and Processing
- Time Management and Study Skills
At the end of the camp, participants will participate in the Festival of Kites, showcasing the works done over the duration. Read details of the content that will be covered in the “What You Will Learn” section below.
The Cultural Camp is open to students Ages 9-17, who are on vacation from School and takes place from April 3rd to 14th!

Time: 9AM- 2PM
Certification:Â A Certificate of Participation will be awarded to all participants completing the camp. To qualify for a certificate of participation, participants must attend at least 95% of the sessions, must be punctual and must participate in the Final Showing!

Spaces will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. Only 25 participants will be accepted!
